SUBJECT: THE ENVIRONMENT

We have finished the unit on "Global Warming". We have held a summit where our "experts" have given some presentations on the topic and they have also answered the questions put to them by the people who were attending the summit.

ALTERNATIVA : Film Persepolis

Last week we watched the fim PERSEPOLIS with 3rd B. The film  deals with the story of a young girl in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. After discussing the film in class, the students had to answer some questions about the plot and complete a summary using key words. They learned a little bit of history about Iran and new vocabulary.

JIGSAW READING (THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT)

We have started the optional subject "The Environment". All the activities are in English and the students are beginning to speak quite well. 

Here you have a video of a Jigsaw reading. They worked in groups and each member of the group had to read a part of a text and then they had to explain it to his or her colleagues. When they had listened to all the explanations, each group had to decide what the correct order of the parts they had read individually was.

EXPERIMENT : THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT

We are studying the Global Warming of the planet. The aim of this experience was to prove the greenhouse effect. The students made two houses with paper. In one of them there was a window and in the second house there was no window. They measured the temperature inside the houses while they were facing to the Sun.
